RCD Testing

A safety switch is your insurance against electric shock. It is designed to prevent injury or death.

It monitors the flow of electricity through a circuit. It will automatically shut off the electricity supply when current is detected leaking from faulty switches, wiring or electrical appliances. This stops the chance of current flowing to earth, through a person, electrocuting them.

Testing a safety switch is an inexpensive safety measure that protects everyone.

Safety Switches are tested to ensure that they trip below the allowable maximum tripping time in accordance to AS 3760:2003 Table 3

Although a safety switch is a reliable method of preventing serious electric shock, it is not a substitute for proper electrical maintenance and safe work.
